Juicy Summertime Acai Bowls

This may be my best açaí bowl recipe yet! I do have another recipe for Arctic Snowflower Acai Bowls as well to view here.

Note, my other acai bowl recipe uses avocado as a base, whereas this one uses banana instead. This provides two options for those with food intolerances or sensitivities. The banana provides good natural sugars and sometimes the avocado-based version needs a little extra sweetener.

These are heaven when outside on the deck overlooking the ocean as the sun warms for the day. And now, I'm thinking that the memory of enjoying these at the ocean will be infused in this combination of flavors when I eat them later. Do you have any foods like that, when you eat them, you are transported back to a vivid, special memory of when/where you ate them?

Recipe: (Makes 4 large servings)

Ingredients for Smoothie Bowl Base

3 frozen açaí packs (I like to use Trader Joes)

3 fresh bananas

approximately 2.5 cups frozen blueberries

hearty splash of flax milk or milk of choice

Place all ingredients for the smoothie bowl base in a high-powered blender and blend until smooth. Divide among 4 bowls and cover with toppings of choice. I personally LOVED the fresh mango with the açaí.

Toppings:

Granola

fresh blueberries

fresh mango

cocoa nibs

hemp seeds

finely shredded coconut

ENJOY.
